Archive of Our Own - AD&T weekly meeting

My apologies for the late update - I've been mired in stuff DUE THIS WEEK that have thoroughly distracted me - you want me to apply to go back to University and to apply for more jobs right?

1. Internship: AD&T welcomes an intern working with us for the next three months as part of her qualification, she's from Hochschule Darmstadt - University of Applied Sciences Faculty of Media. We get to take advantage of her design training and she gets to do some real life practicing *has always wanted a minion of her very own*
2. Process: We had a long and interesting conversation in the last week about our design process and how that relates to the Terms of Service. We're trying to balance honouring the TOS (which has the benefit of a lot of careful thought behind it) as we design without also limiting ourselves (by not building cool things because the TOS says we can't). We think we're doing OK :)
3. Co-location: Still chasing exactly what hardware we want and ensuring we get exactly what we need.
4. Browser Support: We currently build everything around Firefox and we know that's hard for people who don't use it. We will eventually change this and we're currently going through the list of browsers available and working out which ones we will optimise for.
5. Testers: We need volunteers! All you need is patience, an urge to poke things a lot and willingness to learn (we can teach the rest). Drop me a comment or volunteer via the OTW webform.
6. Code: We'll be introducing a Hints for New Users page - mini-FAQ (and a FAQ eventually), seriously upgrading Bookmarks (we're trying to make it pretty as well as functional), building the Invitations system
7. Beta Update: Still planned for the end of August but we will be doing a couple of tiny drops in the meantime (partly because we have a typo in the TOS and partly because it gives AD&T people a chance to practice deploying now that we're taking that task from the Systems Committee)
