Amazon strips sales rankings on 'adult' books

Amazon appears to have freaked out and are using their sales ranking to filter out queer literature in the guise of 'considering their customer base'. Roundup up kindly provided by asknosecrets, LA Times has a decent article explaining as well.

Woke up to AmazonFail which was weirdly energising. I love teh internets and want it to have my babies.

Fandom, Boobs, and the Internet: Big sister is watching you was very interesting to me personally and triggered some interesting discussion. It's pretty obvious we need to have conversations like this a lot.

Failed to attend any more panels but did a lot of organising and chatting followed by the Closing Ceremony which I was more a spectator for than a participant. Thank you to my crazy, wonderful Committee for being everything I could ask for and for being the people to whom I never had to say "Dude, not cool."

We did dinner with the con guests in Northbridge which reinforced just how lovely they were during the con. Richard Morgan was warm and chatty and oh my god does that man know how to talk. Trudy was delightful and told many stories - and how can I possibly do justice to Leece and Rob and their tireless contributions.
