Un long dimanche de fiançailles or A Very Long Engagement @ 9.15

Directed by that genius Jean-Pierre Jeunet; this is a tale about a lovely young woman searching for her fiancée who has disappeared. He is one of five men who shot themselves in the hand to be relieved of the horror of the front line in WWI. They were court-martialed and sentenced to die; pushed out into the no-man's land between the French and German trenches.

It's charming, passionate, awful for us flinchers and utterly worth seeing.

Is the plumbing OK?

House-hunting was undertaken by cricketk, ascetic_hedony and myself. Our criteria has a lot to do with size and location. Now size and location are fine things and to be appreciated and if I had woken up after dreaming about either of these issues I would have felt, if not normal, at least comforted by relevance. Nopes. I've been dreaming about toilets. Because what *my* subconscious is worried about is the state of the plumbing.
