My War Gone By, I Miss It So by Anthony Loyd

This isn't the kind of book I babble about, it's the kind where I want to spend a little time in silent contemplation. I'm not sure I want to make sense of it as such.

It's about Bosnia, and Journalism, and war and addiction and suffering and heroin and being human.

Quite an articulate guy.

A sacrifice to the Ball Gods

Woofer has not recovered from our trip to the park in which both sets of insane black kelpies were present. They stole our ball, gave it to someone willing to throw it for all four of them and ran about like mad things. I sat on the grass and watched the woofer galloping up and down the park with a large, black, furry comet tail in tow.

Since he has recently invented a new game which involves getting a ball, running at full speed to the bottom of the backyard, running at full speed back into the house, running up the front corridor past my room and using the rug there as a braking ramp, I am enjoying his exhausted slump enormously.

Aww so cute.

In other news, the plumber has fixed our nasty drainage problem and I have cleaned the bathroom. This is displacement activity to avoid having to try and tidy my bookshelves and put the last wave of new books away because there is no room.

*cries*

If anyone knows of a single person of reasonable wit and intelligence who has a passion for woofers and a library shaped hole in their heart and house can I have their number please?
