Injured again [sigh]

Shoulder rotator cuff impingement.

No sport for two weeks; have paid a physiotherapist to hurt me and give me new exercises to do... again.

Physio also said nice things about my upper body strength for which I am choosing to forgive the excruciating shoulder massage.

OW!

*hugs*

good luck with the physio - hope you are back paddling v. soon :-/

Love the icon btw - was lamenting to a colleague earlier today that a Perth friend is out on the Swan River rather regularly and I was not. Has the cold hit Perth at all? I keep getting small freezing catnose placed against my neck when I get home in the evenings - apparently she is freezing and determined to share!

Easily fixed. I just need to rest, loosen up the muscles and build some stabilising muscle further down my shoulder blade. A paddler friend has also much helpful advice on technique to decrease the likelyhood of it happening again.

I've had two hot water bottle and socks nights so far. Why is it always the left sock that betrays me by the way?

Thanks, it's not my photo (http://www.wilderness.org.au/regions/australia/on_the_trail_May06/?nid=2&loc=2) but it captures how I feel about paddling.

How did you manage to do that?

Paddling! Really! That was all I was doing; apparently having 'great deltoids' can lead to great pain.

I am wise in the ways of impingement grasshopper.

well bugger.
why is it that there are now three of my friends with dud shoulders?
and only one of them is a guy.

weird.

You're clearly a jinx, I should have done the job_in_India attracting dance as your powers are clearly far ranging and deadly.

Aha! I have a sore shoulder too.. though mine is from tumbling class, (too many takedowns...). I also blame the evil pushups

I think pushups are fundamentally Evil!

It's a bit better today and I faithfully did my exercises this morning, high hopes for tomorrow.

This is a tactful way of saying 'you big, dumb jock' isn't it?

[identity profile] terrycat.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 08:23 am (UTC)(link)
nope, a tactful way of saying "you big dope [intelligent person who nonetheless manages to do stupid things a lot] of a jock" *g*

I get called a dope an awful lot. *sighs*
