Chairs stats would be different though, in back in 2009 I actively encouraged people to change every year to share the knowledge and build up a pool of people with the skills.
Whether they stayed with the Org would probably be a valid stat though.
*hugs* There's a HUGE amount of support and information out there on non-profit governance. We just need to leverage it.
There are things we can do!
Volcom have done excellent work with recruitment - having position descriptions and training plans and actual processes will make us a better org. Support that and build it into your committees.
Practice good governance at all levels - little things like running meetings well, and communicating with all the people your work affects make a huge difference to an organisation's effectiveness and culture.
As we develop and refine those skills, we prepare our future Board members for success.

I was thinking a Committee Dashboard would be useful, where every committee does a ballpark 'ideal staffing' number and we compare to 'actual'
